  • Relying on social networks and personal connections to find talent for the organization

  • Mediocre and ineffective diversity and inclusion policies

  • Channeling black workers into the least secure and least prestigious roles

How to Do Better…

  • Explicitly address gender and race discrimination

  • Create mentorship opportunities for employees of color

  • Hire more people of color….a lot more!!
